About SABIAM-Alvo-Net
We are an international collaborative network applying cutting-edge bioinformatics, machine learning, and computational biology methods to identify and validate molecular targets against multidrug-resistant pathogens.
SABIAM-Alvo-Net
Since 2013, our consolidated interdisciplinary group has been applying advanced bioinformatics methodologies in combination with integrative experimental efforts. In 2025, through the CAPES-AUGM program, we established a South American network of researchers from Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, with collaborations extending to Chile, Mexico, Canada and Portugal.
Our mission is summarized in four main objectives:
- In silico and in vitro analysis of molecular targets and promising antimicrobial compounds in clinically relevant pathogens and parasites in South America, using Bioinformatics, AI, Molecular Biology, and Computational and Molecular Modeling.
- In vitro and in vivo evaluation of promising molecular targets in clinically relevant microorganisms in South America, through Biotechnology and Microbiology.
- Development of models to predict AMR, through Mathematical and Computational Modeling of AMR in various environments.
- Application of ML and Big Data technologies in the development of personalized solutions for the SABIAM-Alvo-Net network, through Framework Development.
