SABIAM-Alvo-Net — South American Network for Bioinformatics, Artificial Intelligence and Modeling in Molecular Target Discovery and Biotechnological Innovation
We are an interdisciplinary, multi-institutional network that began in South America and has since expanded across Mexico, Canada, Portugal, and Morocco. Our main objective is to integrate strategies from several fields to discover novel molecular targets in multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial pathogens and parasites, addressing the challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in an innovative way.
Our Core Strategies:
- Bioinformatics – Advanced genomic and proteomic analysis.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Predictive modeling for drug and target discovery.
- Molecular Modeling – Innovative algorithms for structure-based drug design.
- Mathematical Modeling – Novel matemathical modeling for environmental AMR surveillance.
- Biotechnology & Microbiology – Experimental validation and characterization.
